AR Treasure Hunt

AR Treasure Hunt 2022 is the first iteration of one of the pre-events of IT Meet. The core idea of this event is running a treasure hunt with the use of Augmented Realityinstead of physical clues. \n The preliminary stage for this event will be hosted online where various clues will be scattered throughout different social media accounts of KUCC or on its website. The first 8 teams to complete the online treasure hunt will move on to the final on-campus AR Treasure hunt. \n These teams, after being briefed on the rules in the CV Raman auditorium, had a first clue on the lawn. We will use the location service to track the player’s current location. If the player gets into the radius of his next clue, they will be prompted to open his camera. The camera will detect the nearby objects and if pointed in the correct direction, an interactive AR will appear which will serve as a clue for the next location. \nFirst, 8 teams will be directed to 8 locations. Using the clue on that location, the next 4 locations will be revealed, where 2 teams will find the next clue. Then another 2 locations will be revealed using the clues and finally, the final location will be the same for all the teams. \n We are expecting 100+ students from inside and outside Kathmandu University to register for the online event. Participants can register in teams with up to 4 members or as individuals. Thus we are expecting approximately 25 teams to take part in the online event from which only 6 teams will qualify for the final event.
